I need information on lug nuts to fit 09 Charger r/t wheels on 66 plymouth fury 440 hp, I can't find the right size lug nuts to go through the holes (5) in the wheels , Can anyone help me ? I would appreciate any information .

I would think the Charger wheels require the acorn style lug nuts. They shouldn't go through the holes at all but stay on the surface of the wheel. The bevel in the base of the lugnut will center itself on the wheel stud.

Wrong bolt pattern, it's close but not quite, you could have them machined. I had a set that I was gonna put on my '68 Newport until I tried to bolt them up.

I know it looks like it will fit in the pic but it was just a scosh different. I have heard of plenty of people forcing them on though.....

I put a gauge to some LX steel wheels and came up with a 4.5" bolt circle, and the 115mm gauge didn't fit. I posted pictures in a thread about a similar question, but I don't have time to find it right now. Not sure what to say...I know the ones I looked at where 4.5" bolt circle, maybe some are different?

Similarly, try centering a 100mm rim on a 5 on 4 pattern...it bolts up but youll never get it static balanced. And I think that is 101.6mm

I've run Mustang 18x9 Bullit wheels on my Pontiac before with no issue whatsoever. Mustang is 5x4.5" while my Pontiac is 5x115mm. No forcing at all, lugs center just fine and zero vibration.

Dont see why it's not working the other way around.

From what I've read there was a change in mid to late 90s. Early 90s wheels fit the 5 on 4.5 but later wont. 4.5 is 114.3 mm. 115 mm is just a little bit wrong. Acorn nuts will ring out the seats in alloy wheels but might bend/break the studs with steel wheels.

Personally, I wouldn't run a wheel that was off, even just .7mm. I'm sure people have gotten away with it for some time, but I don't feel good about it.

Also, I know of one other person that has tried bolting up a set of LX wheels and said the lugs didn't match well. I don't know if there are some differences in wheels (undocumented change in bolt circle or something), but I couldn't find a difference. I even wondered if the R/T and SRT models used a different hub than the lower models, which would make it possible that the bolt circle was different, but according to RockAuto, the hub is the same for all the car.

The only thing I know for certain is that the wheel I checked had a 4.5" bolt circle. It's possible that not all LX wheels had a 4.5" bolt circle, but the one I checked did.

Thanks Hersbird My 66 fury has 1/2x20 wheel studs the 09 chargers acorn lug nuts slide over the furys wheel studs. I think I'm going to have to mill the lug nut holes do you think that'll work ?

You are correct Dion,114.3mm=LX=4.5 except SRT they are 115mm slightly larger

no don't mill the wheels just buy acorn lugs that fit your fury studs. Are you trying to use "shank" style nuts off the Fury? Use the conical seat, and if you need more meat on the seat use "bulge" conical seat. look up Gorilla 61187 on summitracing $16 for 4. Or for less the Summit brand 754006 for $1 each. Do you have all right handed threads?

All 2005 and up LX and LY (i.e. Charger, Magnum, 300, and Challenger) are 5x115 regardless of model. That means you can put SRT8 wheels on a low line 2.7 car. SRT8, R/T, SE it doesn't matter, all are 5x115........think (and thank) Mercedes..........

Do they fit 5x4.50 bolt pattern? Sure, people have done it, folks are running 5x4.5 wheels on LX cars.

Is it correct? No. Just because they are cheap or look nice doesn't make it right. It is the difference of .027". The LX wheels are Hub Centric so they may bolt on but if they are not concentric between the bore of the wheel and the hub of the car they will be off. The risk and headache, to me is not work it. Then there is the off set.....

Not only running 5x114.3 on LX cars but doing it for 8 years and over 100,000 miles on thousands of them. This duscussion has been going on since 2004 and there are 2 sides, I personally say that less then .35mm isn't enough to make a difference, look at it on a ruler. That .35mm is what each lug needs to move for 114.3 vs 115.
I would figure out what hub center ring you need to make the hub tight on the wheel. They come in 100's of sizes and are not much money.
