Do you run the shifter cable before or after the crossmember?

I'm installing a B&M Quicksilver shifter. I'm concerned about the shifter wire hole. After some measurements it looks like the hole for the cable will be just in front of the support for the crossmember. Meaning the wire will then have to pass the crossmember support and there will be a kink in the wire there because there is a ledge in the support.

I have mocked up the shifter were it felt comfortable for me, but it looks like I either have to move it more to the back or quite a bit forward to solve the crossmember issue.

How have you dellt with this?
