Merlin's Acting Weird....

I'd also check to see if the manufacturer of the dog food you use has any recalls. There have been several recalls in the last year due to contamination and possible exposure to salmonella.

I just wish my ol' girl Lexi would feel better. She's a beagle/rott mix around 12 years old, overweight, dry nose and her arthritis has been so bad the last 2 weeks that she can hardly walk. I have been giving her 2 ibuprofen a day and it seems to help her a bit.

For arthritis, check with your vet. My older dalmatian had arthritis and very stiff legs. My vet put him on Rimidyl (or Rymidyl) to help with the pain. Then the lady from Dalmatian Rescue also suggested Cosequin. I then checked with my vet and he said that we could use BOTH TOGETHER. The combination of both together acts like a Vicatin does to humans for the dogs. He was getting around a little better for a while. My ex has her 16 y.o. black lab/irish wolfhound mix on it now and it is helping her also. Anyhow the Rimidyl and Cosequin acts on the dogs like Vicatin does to humans and helps dampen the pain for them. They sometimes feel like they are young again and try to run/jump like when they are younger and they try to run/jump like they were younger.
