Gas Power auger recommendations

Find a farmer with a tractor mounted post hole digger and he can do the job quickly. I have one for mine and have the 6 inch and the 9 inch augers. I had one of the hand held post hole diggers for less than 4 hours before I returned it. Here we have a massive amount of clay and even going at it slow the auger would hang up and the power head would about rip your arms off if you didn't just let go. I didn't need a broken arm from that thing. I then rented one that was shaft driven off a motor that sat on a cart that was about 8 feet back from the auger head. It worked good but was pricey to rent so I bought one for the tractor. Now the hardest part is hooking it up on the tractor and that isn't hard.

This must be the updated version of what I rented. It is the second machine down.

Here is the style I rented. You can do a huge amount of holes with this. Takes about 5 minutes a hole in our clay.
