Like the title says, it looks like my upper control arm has seen better days LOL. The balljoint jumped out and after removal this is what I found. Just wonder where I could find a new upper control arm, car is a 67 barracuda with upgraded disc brakes (from 74 dart) with the large balljoints.

I saw that Badart makes some really nice pieces, so I'll send him a PM but not sure if it would be affordable to ship it all the way to Canada.

Yep driver side. Took the car out for a little test and tune around the block and found its front wheel angled in, looked like a real "RACE CAR" LOL. Took the wheel off and found the ball-joint sitting on top of the arm :)

Just wondering if I could find another UCA locally, I guess the parts stores won't stock them anymore LOL

Nope pretty much a 4-5 day trek, just over 5500km LOL, is there a difference between the left and right control arm or are they interchangeable?

They are different. Where in Canada are you? East, West or Middle and I will see if anything is near in the states? How far are you from the U.S. border?

I'm located in St.John's Newfoundland, Canada, all the way on the east coast. Doesn't get much further east then this, next stop England LOL

get a new one and weld it in has been done before.

I have a welder, but It looks like the ball-joint was torn from the UCA and the hole is kind of elongated, not sure if I can just push a new one in and weld it. I feel lucky this thing didn't come apart on the highway and send me straight into traffic lol, might as well do it right :)

My control arms are probably just about done too, I'm very interested in these new ones from Badart.

I don't know. That thing's pretty gnarly. I think I'd replace it. The hole is so wallowed out, you might not get the ball joint located properly, even if you did weld it in. They usually don't tear up that bad. It almost looks like it was moving around for a while and finally came out. That's a lot of damage to just pop out all at once. Oh, and on shipping, a lot of people don't know it, but you can send parcels first class mail. It's WAY cheaper than parcel post. I just sent that 340 pie pan to 4spdragtop in Canada and it was $5.75 from Georgia.

Yes he has some really nice pieces. And great prices too, can't find anything comparable that's cheaper than those that's for sure. Does anyone have these installed?

I have seen them welded where just the threads were stripped but I agree this one has gone past where I would want to have a welded part.

Ever think of National Moparts here in Ontario? I'm willing to bet he has one.... Shipping is shipping... Living were you live you must be use to it, lord thundering bye....

Ha ha, just starting to get used to it, I moved here 10 months ago, lived in Toronto before that, a lot easier to get stuff that's for sure :)

I had mine do this while on the highway, except mine was a new production one from Ebay. So yeah, avoid those.

Mega Parts has theirs on back order and the price is out the wazoo! $375 a pair (that's US) but it includes bushings and ball joints.:banghead:

Thanks for all the eyes and ears out there guys :)

I have decided to order a set from badart, he does some amazing work and I can't wait to bolt them in. I went for the rubber bushing straight tube UCA's with the large ball-joints, powder coated in black. Will be nice to have the additional caster that he has engineered into them, look forward to see how it will drive with the new arms and bushings. I'll keep you guys posted when it is installed :)

Check car-part.com they do a junk yard search for Canada also. May not find many more options as that is probably where some other results above are from.

I would save my $$ and get the new uppers from John (Badart). High quality, and a bit lighter than stock, waaaaay stronger than stock as well. I have bought from John, and will again hopefully soon!
