I live in Gurnee, IL - the town just east of us that is on Lake Michigan is called Waukegan. Waukegan was a town that had its glory days in 1958. Walk-town as the "caucasian" locals sometime refer to it as is like a slice of Mexico here in 2012. It's been that way for 25-30 years now. Any Illinoisian that's been up this way will tell you the same.
