I need a new set of front seat belts for my 74 dart. It has a bench seat. I see that XV Motorsports offers a set that they say is specific for bench seat models. Has anyone used these? Are they ok, or is there something better out there?

Thanks in advance............Ted

how much are they?? did you want factory style. I got a set from Ebay, didn't pay that much either, I am looking to see who I got them from, I have buckets but I am sure you can get bench ones too, the original that were in my car sucked they would lock everytime you pulled on them drove my wife and I nuts, these do not do that, at least so far...

The ones that I'm looking at go for $69. a piece.
Yup my belts are doing the same thing. I've tried to repair them but it's been hit or miss.
If these work it will be money well spent.

I purchased the XV belts for my bench seat 68 Barracuda. Here are my comments.

1. The retractor that bolts to the floor won't fit between the seat and rocker. I had to weld in a new mounting point into the rocker about 8" back from the stock position.

2. The inner belt is way to long and doesn't have a sleeve that keeps it from twisting. The length was such that the buckle wound up in the middle of your stomach and the shoulder belt didn't lay across your chest. I had a set of universal belts that allowed you to adjust the length at the floor anchor so I cut off the anchor and used that. I also made a junk yard run and harvested some plastic sleeves to slip over the inner belt to keep them from twisting.

3. The shoulder anchor has a very large hole for mounting. You will need to go to some place like McMaster Carr.com to get shoulder bolts that will fit the car and keep the mount supported.

All I'm all I think that XV is just putting there logo on a universal three point belt and there is nothing specific to our cars.

I just got belts from www.seatbeltsplus.com. They have everything you would want there. Prices and shipping are right. Problem I found is that all the info tags sewed onto the belts(which are on the buckle end) would face up if you install them the way the brackets dictate.
I bent all the brackets and put them on the other way. They have belts with retractors that probably won't work either.
