metal door panels???

is it possible to get my 2dr darts upper door panel piece in metal or was that only for the 4 door models?
 
I believe 73 was when most of the a-bodies switched to plastic upper doors and sail panels etc..etc...

should be able to get one from an earlier model car. only problem is that I believe you have to swap the entire door as the metal upper panels are part of the doors structure
 
i think 73 would fit my 76 but not totally sure. id be willing to switch to them just for the metal upper panel.
 
yeah, thats what he said 73 was the first year of the plastic ones.
before that it was part of the door and metal. need to swap the Whole door.
 
Ya you would need to change out the door for that. 72 on down. 73+ are all plastic.

I put a set of 72 Demon doors on my 75 Duster. Had to change out the the upper window track and weather striping as well.

Another nice thing for you is you can also have a vent window if you change to early doors.
 
What I was saying is that 73 was the transition year. Which if that was the case you would need parts from a 72 and earlier car.

(Edit, i see others chimed in and confirmed what i was getting at while i was typing this message lol)

Really depends on your skill as a fabricator. If you have access to a 72 door, a measuring tape, some sheetmetal, and a mig welder, you could just make your own bolt-on or weld-on units. Probably take you a day or two, buit they would look great and you wouldn't have to worry about the cracked plastic pieces.

Just my $0.02.
