Sooooo, I'm not in immediate need of tires, but it's time I start looking. The BFG T/As on my car are almost 12 yrs old, and since my car initially sat for a few years the fronts have some flat spots I just can't get rid of.

I have 15x7s on the front, 15x8 on the rear.

Long story short, it's got 215/60 and 235/60s because originally I had narrower wheels on the car.

The plan is generally 235/60 for the front, 255/60 for the rear, but I am trying to decide what tire to run. I know there is talk of the BFGs being in short supply and possibly with production moving to Mexico or being taken over by Coker.

I keep coming up with BFGs, Firehawk Indy, and Goodyear GT IIs. There is also the M/T Street Radial option...but I just don't have experience with anything but the BFGs.

Thoughts?

There is a more tire options out there, then what you just listed. Example my old 85 GP had Toyos 225(could've been 235)/50R15 at all four corners and I had no complains what so ever on those tires. Those tires made a really cool sound when I would get on the I-5 and it was wet! Sounded like a jet was taking off because of how well the tire threw water off of them.

BFG ! BFG ! BFG !!! .... There are tons of tire options out there, everyone has they're opinion on what's the best. I like the BFGs personally, but there are better tires. Just depends on what you plan on doing with them. If your looking for the best traction and hard cornering, lots of wet driving then do your research. As for me, my driving is selective. Only nice days and once/twice a week, too me the BFGs are the best looking of them all ! And are a straight up classic muscle car tire !!!

I have also spied the Cooper Cobra, but really I am leaning toward the M/Ts, as they aren't really any more expensive than the BFGs.

I'll need to look around at what other options are out there.

I went to a local tire store just yesterday and wanted to buy 4 235/70X15 Firestone Indy 500s for my 1990 Dodge short bed and was told they went out of production.

Probably because they say "Cobra". :toothy8:

...I also noticed the Indy's seemed scarce. I thought maybe I was just looking in the wrong place.

I am still leaning toward the M/Ts. They look good, can be had for a reasonable price online. My local NTB does a good job with all our hot rod work, so I'll just take them over there to get mounted
