modern arrington 426 hemi,,40 hours of machine work to the block,,arrington heads,,, custom cam,,,arrington special pistons,,, 2 holly blower prepped carb 950 cfm each,,, msd spark box,,, 521 hp,,608 torque,,,,im not impressed at all that motor had to cost 15 grand of more,,,

any one seen this ???

I seen it and I agree it's very weak. For Supercharged engine like that I was expecting at least 700 horspower, but then again whatayawant with a bunch of Chevy heads.

You could make that kinda power with a stock bore and stroke 360 and the right heads.

You can easily make that kind of HP, but no where near that kind of torque, not without help.

HP TV is a joke, all there engines are lacking due to bad parts selection. I have seen many blown 6.1 Hemi's making over 1000hp. And they were not even strokers.

i was ranting about this less than 30 minutes after i watched it! thats a joke! they build boosted chbbie and ferd motors pushing 900-1000hp all the time and the one time it comes to a mopar that should easily topple the competition they screw it up and only make 500!? and they have the nerve not only to be happy with this but to brag about it to! what a bunch or jerks lol rant over :D

I'm glad someone else is bothered about this.hell I'm still trying to figure out what they did to the block that took 40hrs,and ya I was thinking 850 to1000 hp, man what a turd.but look at the source............Artie

This is precisely why I don't watch these shows...They're worthless.

The 500 horsepower figure was average over a certain rpm window. I don't remember off hand what that rpm range was. I think they recorded horsepower at 690.6, still lower then I expected but its way better then building that engine and making 500.

ahh the joys of saying x amount of machine work... does not mean squat.

did they include setup times?
what about coffee breaks?
decision time?
extra bowel movement time?
machine shop that did not know what they were doing?
didnt have the right equipment?
:banghead:

i still cant get over that they never have a rusted bolt that does not turn off easily:toothy8:
