I used to work at Coastline Equipment located on Paramount Blvd. in Long Beach. They are a Deere dealership, obviously they deal almost exclusively in construction equipment.
I worked there for three summers in a row when I first started teaching 19 years ago. (Side note: How the F did that happen, how can I be starting my 20th year teaching? ;) ) At the time the service manager was trying to convince me to quit teaching and be a full time Diesel Mechanic. I really liked the people there, the mechanics were top notch and I learned a lot. But in the end, the benefits of being a teacher outweighed being a diesel tech.
These days I try to take the summers off and work on my own projects.
