disc brake swap turn full resto

Justin has been tons of help and ill repay him when it comes time to do his 69 dart. The por15 made the fire wall look 10x better after a little sanding. She's going to get painted a semi dark shade of gray metallic I just haven't picked the color yet.

Works been getting in my way of making progress on the Valiant. I did a bit of sanding on the engine compartment, but after work 12 hours last night and having to go back to days tomorrow I tried to get something done but was lacking the energy. I did manage to seafoam my silverado and give the old leaning tower of power a healthy coat of gloss engine black.

I paint all my motors black. With the dark grey metallic I don't know if ill paint the 360 black or orange.

Spent another 8 hours on the valiant today. I plan to go buy paint on monday and as the engine compartment and most of its parts are done and ready for paint I decided to get started on the drivers side fender that I got off of an ebay seller that lives in oregon. I decided to try airplane stripper and I found out that it wasnt so perfect as decribed.

Here's some help with colour choice. Elanor Ash Pepper Grey Metallic is not a Ford colour. It was originally a Fleetliner Truck fleet colour.

Also if you want to stick with a Chrysler colour the closest thing is Chrysler Platnium (Dupont PS4).

Lots of really nice Grey colours and seems to be the colour of choice this year. I've had plans since the beginning of my build for a shade of grey.

Keep up the great work on the resto!

Riddler

NP but if you really like the Elanor colour then just go for it. But it seems most of the guys on the Elenor Mustang forums get the Ash Pepper Gray Metallic paint and have the green removed from the colour leaving more of a gray and less emerald in it.

Check out Loosenutz dart build here in members restorations he painted it pepper grey...looks bad ***

Loosenutz dart looks really sharp in Dupont 44490 but I'm leaning towards something a little lighter. Ill look at that ps4 but who's knowns what ill go with.

Then I was talking to a co worker about replacing my passenger quarter skin and he says "so what color we painting it and hey you should pull that \6 out so we can do the engine compartment." So im going to finish up the wheel wells then install the disc brakes so that I can roll the car back and pull the motor. going to sand and paint the engine compartment and repaint the old 225 and reinstall till I can get my 360/727 finished. Im leaning torwards the shade of silver ellenor from gone in 60 seconds was painted but with a satin black hood and slotted mags.

That's the color I painted my Dart. I've also gone with a lot of satin black accents. The color is called Pepper Gray Metallic. It's not silver at all. More of a greenish gray. She's pretty dusty in this pic but you get the idea.

Lol, after I posted my pic I noticed you guys already mentioned my car. Thanks I feel special, haha. Most of my pics are taken indoors, the color lightens up quite a bit when it's in the sun.

Bought all the materials to paint my car today and my buddy Dan Garcia painted the engine compartment.
The color 2011 Dodge pdm mineral grey metallic (same as Dans truck). Holy crap I didnt relize there was that much metal flake in the paint but I couldnt be more happy with the color and cant wait the get the whole car done.

I really didnt think I was gonna like the /6 painted all black, but after seeing it in there, damn that looks good!!

Thanks I'm really happy with the way things are turning out. You can barely make out the new wire clips on the drivers inner fender and I have the new washer bottle on order. I need to make a new mc gasket then I can get the 85 fifth Ave mc installed with the adpter I bought. The engine compartment side of the steering column got a coat of por15 and that stuff takes awhile to dry when its 100 deg out. I still have some work to do on the wiring and once its up and running again it's going to my buddy dans for more body and paint work. Justin's house sold and will close in about 3 weeks so I knew I was on narrowed time which is why I busted *** on it last month.

WOW that is exactly what I need to do with my fuel line, your car is coming together GREAT looks wonderful. I was picturing something just like what you have done, cause I have experienced vapor-lock on mine when going to Michigan one year. Great job

Brad

Thx I thought it was a nice touch as I've never cared for how the original fuel line was routed and the best part is it doesn't get in the way to remove the valve cover to adjust the rockers. And yea I will be ditching that clear filter soon. I just wanted to keep an eye on what might be getting sucked up from the tank.

Yes I was going to ask why they weren't liked much cause I am looking for one but rite now no one has one or okay haven't really beat the pavement for one. LOL but really looks good and I to will be doing that. Thnx
Brad

I heard it cause they swell and don't filter out as good as the metal ones and please don't ever run the glass tube ones that have replacement filters. I've heard too many time of people cars catching on fire because of them. I'm even guilty of running one once and it leaked because of a bad o ring right out of the package.

Yea I have heard horror stories about the glass ones.. the glass cracking and spewing gas, etc etc.. however I have been running the clear plastic ones (like the one in your pic) for the entire time I have owned my Dart (almost 9 years now) ... never have had a problem with them...

Thanks guys for the info good stuff to know...now if I only remember...what were we talking about? lol
