Yeah, $3500 is not a bad price. Especially if it is solid- dunno what happened to the potential buyers, but if it hasn't sold and he needs the money, well- I am not for him cutting up the car- but I know he can make more that way.
Always amazes me when stuff like this comes up and people buy worse cars for the same money, even less money due to 'shipping.' Well, fixing up a completely crapped out rust bucket will be more in cash, effort, and frustration than shipping a much more solid car back to whatever part of the rustbelt the person lives in. Just saying...
