Okay okay, We're sorry we were a little rough on the new guy. It's all cool now. I just hope my 318 holds up, I don't have $30,000 to do a stock rebuild on it. :happy2:

Last time i check, there was about a $3,000 spread.......
Chrysler parts....Work at it....Not everone can do them...
Chevrolet parts......Your local Albersons store.... Borning.

And as for the Machine shop.... If they dont know mopars..Leave and go to someone who knows mopars... Your Chevy Guy cant build a Mopar.... But your Mopar guy can build a Chevy.... Yep...Thats it rite there...

the big reason it is more to build the mopar is you can't buy the parts at WAL MART
 
Roger - walk up and have a beer (or soda...). I'm in the attic when I'm not cooling off down here...

Guys - he's just venting. Not a troll, but reasonably new to building a Mopar. He's also the only other "neighbor" I have...lol. BTW, his Chevelle is a really nice car, and his family drives all mopars.

thanks Dave its nice to hear a good word and i think the whole thing was taken out of context ill stop by sometime picking up the engine this week

well theres only so many choices i also buy stuff from ebay just like everybody i search the internet for the best deal next purchase will a body axeles from doctor diff sounds like a good deal they come with the green bearings and 3 inch studs 1541 hardened steel for $ 295 + 40 shipping

the money sucking pig commet was taken out of context it was the evening of july 3rd no work the next day due the holiday its been hot around here so i was in the ac killing time on the abodies website drinking beer had a couple shots got agravated about my rocker arms yes im worried that the procomp rockers might dump needle bearings into the motor that would kill me.the truth is im very excited about this engine and i hope it kicks Chevy and Ford *** i also know theres always someone bigger and badder dont want to piss anyone off wheather there a slant 6 guy or a big cubic inch auminum block Hemi guy with twin tubos making 2200 hp once the heat dies down ill go back to working on the car and not spend so much time here . im a friend not a fo but like everyone want respect and calling me a troll was bs.

Walmart does sell CHevy parts, and it's a longstanding joke that food stamps can also be used for them :).
Sorry Roger... had to...lol. Great on the engine. Try to be patient. The summer's not gone yet...
 
Being a die hard Mopar guy for about 40 years. I can tell you it is frustrating when you walk your *** off thru a big swap meet like Moltrie Ga. looking for Mopar stuff. No one can argue that point. But what we do have on our side is the internet and sites like this. If your buying new these days we finally have some great choices for parts. But in the used market I don't think we will ever catch up with the Chevy choices. But hey I'm ok with that.
 
I'm helping my son gather parts for his 351W going into his '88 Mustang. First time I've looked at these cars and every thing I look at has 10-20 different choices. It's great but depressing too as in 35yrs of Mopar love I've never had this kind of selection. It's great spending his money too. I keep telling him when I go to back half the car it's rolling out of the garage with a Dodge engine. I'm just glad he likes V8's.

Oh and the other son bought a '72 Demon this year.
 
DDC, i apologize for agreeing with the troll comment early on in this thread. At the time it looked like that's where it was going to me. I actully posted a similar comment a month or so ago about no aftermarket respect. Over about 40 yrs. of this stuff i've had or worked on more other American iron then Mopar's even though they were always my favorite. I think as long as someone doesn't come on here badmouthing the brand we should show some respect to them even if they own other type's of vehicles. I'll come clean and say i've owned 1-69' Chevelle SS and 2-72' SS velle's as well. Never had any major issues on any of them, but 1- 72' was a pretty radical smblk. and the valve train sucked.....springs, rockers and pushrods were always a issue, albeit i ran it to 7,200 on a regular basis...hehe. Now i'm rambling, so just want say good luck when you get that baby to the track:D.
 
My appologies to Duster Drag Car as well. It had a troll feel to it. I was wrong.

I agree, but it is also about being smarter. Its the package and setup that count. I've been running mid 11s in my all steel Demon with a $2000 Mopar 360 on pump gas. It gets a lot people scratchin their heads when they come up expecting to see a 440. With planning and a well thought out package, you can run as cheap or cheaper than chevy. Need I also mention longevity?
 
I saw Roger's engine yesterday - should be in the car by now but it's been brutally humid here with the heat and his shop's not temp controlled... All the parts are with the car now - so it's almost done.
