'Caramelized onions'? never heard of them... but they sound good to me..
Onion slices in olive oil with salt/pepper and what ever else you like. Throw them on the grill until they are soft......we normally just use aluminum foil to hold them in...

Yall ain't lived till you have some carmalized Vidalia
(pronounced vie-dale-ya) onions. Vidalia, Georgia is the only place on earth where they grow with the sweet taste they have. Some kinda voodoo about the soil there.

They don't need to be swimming in what ever oil you chose, just enough to keep them moist. Might need to experiment a bit...

Right on Bro, Its the only onion I use in my marinara. Off the charts delicious.
