Uli drive 807 Miles one way to Big Power Meet Sweden

OK guys. After a safe return from Vasteras in Sweden, here is my story.

We set off on a dry but dull Tuesday morning from home not knowing really what lies ahead.

Met up with a few friends who were also looking forward to the trip.

Traveling north on the A7 Autobahn towards the Danish border. The Fehmarn Sund bridge is coming up.

All packed in like sardines in the belly of the ferry across from Germany to Denmark.
Thank God no dents or dings.

On the Scandinavian side, surprisingly everything was in English. Even the road signs.

Probably the most unspectacular autobahn system on the planet. There is nothing going on in Denmark. Nothing to see, so just keep going non-stop to the Swedish border.

Here we are crossing the Öresund bridge into Sweden. Seeing more & more US cars as we progress. This masterpiece of engineering is a toll bridge.

The first town on the Swedish side is Malmö. We drove thru Malmö & carried on for around 2 1/2 hours to the town of Ljungby where we checked into our hotel for the night. After doing a quick check on the cars, (oil, water tire pressures, etc) we met on the hotel veranda for a beer or 4. Unfortunately we hat to share the veranda with a swarm of Swedish mosquitoes. As we didn't pack for the tropics, we had no mosquito spray with us. We downed our beer pretty quick & went to bed.

Next morning at breakfast we met up with some English guys who were also on their way to Vasteras. They were well prepared for the journey with 13 US cars & a fully equipped tow truck!!

We followed the coast road for around 150 miles heading north east.

We took a break for some snapshots of the group & of the Swedish countryside.

Now we are well on our way heading for Stockholm & from there on to Västeras just 91Km or around 60 miles to go. We just had to stop at the lakeside for a coffee & & snapshot of my Barracuda.

Nearly there now. Just 18 Km (12 miles) to go!!

We arrived at the campsite & took a few more snapshots before setting up the tent & then joined the rest for an afternoon cruise.
