So i am building a 71 dart, was a slant 6 car. I did a moderate build on the motor, 360/727. The motor runs great... I put a Transgo TF-1 kit in trans. And a Hughes 2000 stall. When i went to go on first test drive i discovered that in forward gears, the car seem "locked" will not move, however reverse seems to work. I am sure it was a error in the valve body work i did i am just wondering if anyone has some thoughts for me...Thank you very much.

Chris.

I did not do a complete build as the 727 was a very low mileage unit, under 15,000. I replaced front seal, rear output seal, adjusted bands, replaced manual lever seal, and installed the TF-1 kit. I disconnected the linkage at trans, started in neutral, and manually shifted to drive with my hand. And nothing...when i give it gas it feels like it is fighting itself. I appreciate your thoughts, thank you much.

Chris,

Are the trans lines hooked up on the right side of the trans? My buddy hooked his up on the other side and that is what his did also.

Whatever it is, is either IN the valve body, or a part controlling the valve body. I vote for the prior.

ROFLMAO... those pipe fittings on the drivers side are for servo and accumulator test ports, if memory servers me... I bet it didn't work if they were run as cooler lines.. good one...

hmmm.....my trans. lines hook up on the drivers side on all 3 of my dodges with 727's.

All transmission lines are on the drivers side of the transmission.
I think he meant reversed the lines. If it has factory lines still on it, they will only go on one way.
Even if you reversed them, this wouldn't cause the problem he is talking about.
I'm not a transmission gut, but in my youth, I had the local Ammco build a 727 for my 340 Swinger.
This thing would try to lock up at low speeds.
They didn't have any idea what was causing it.
I met a local drag racer, who worked on TF's. He fixed it, but I never found out what the concern was.
If it was working before the shift kit, I would say the concern is in the valvebody.
