Well I jsut picked it up, deal was too good to pass up. its an LH41C2r201 is the first part of the vin. its a 225 car, 4 door, but has a trailer hitch, lol. I need to replace the front wheel bearings but other than that the car is clean and original. No rust through anywhere! just wondered what it would be worth. "I'm still looking for a 67 thru 69 dart 2door. not picky on v8 or 6.

I'm not sure what its worth but it is cool and I have 2 things to ask. Is the hitch mounted to the frame or just the bumper? And the second thing is does it come with or without the mouse trap? :toothy8:

Wasn't the "mouse trap" a rare option in 72'?

Dibs called on the steering wheel, radio bezel and radio, and the body molding.

My answer to your 'worth question' is its a matter of taste. With all that extra crap on it its worth alot less. The extra body molding is a bit over the top. Them mirrors on the fenders are gonna leave holes but they too are too much. I would ditch that home made shelf and evrything under the a/c bezels as well. In short bringing the car back as close as you can to bone stock would net you the best money. Since you are way up nothwest I can only assume that the trunk and under the hood are a little more rusty looking due to the large amount of rain and the interior most likely smells like a locker room from the dampness so a nice shampoo woule help but repainting the underside of the hood, motor and other parts would cheapen the car. Someone else did that on a 63 or 64 Dart on FABO and it did look good but the car went from original to altered. What starts as an easy fix ends up being a bunch of extra buying and installing of tune up stuff, belts, hoses, filters, wires, etc. and since the market for oem stuff went bye bye long ago aftermarket parts go on and presto the value just went down even more. I know taking off all that added stuff will alter the car too but this is stuff that did not come on the car and unless you or the buyer are planning on pulling a boat or little camper trailer the future buyer will be taking this stuff off anyways. That hitch is gonna leave some nasty holes leaving you looking for a new valance and bumper so its better left alone. If I was looking for a car like this my window margin on price would be between $1500.00 and $3000.00. That though depends on mileage, condition of complete driveline, driveability of the car, and ebverything that the car is going to need to have it as a dependable driver. In the end for me the money would level off somewhere around $2000.00 or less just because of all that extra stuff on the car

I have to ask though. Is that a date correct CB 23 channel radio? Also nobody made mention but it appears the guy made a makeshift cup holder out of some wire or a basket of some sort and mounted it into the right lower kick panel?

I think you have grandpas time machine

look at it guys

CB radio, Aftermarket Ac looks like an 8 track also

Trailer hitch, hell yeah, got to have one to pull the fishing boat, can't you see the grumpier old men going to the lake in that.

I think it is cool as is, fix the bearings and keep on driving, get a small fishing boat to pull to the cruise ins

But whoever had it did take good care of it, DON'T CHANGE A THING.

Good Find

the hitch is mounted to the frame below the car as well as behind the rear bumper. The double mouldings threw me off not sure which one is standard or not. as far as the radio goes I was told that is is a corret date radio and when I take it out let them know. the mouse trap came with the box of manuals and parts I got with it "hoses belts, bearings,etc.., the guy took good care of this car, the trunk is good and solid "will take pic's when I get everything stored that came with it" it even has the old plaid trunk liner but that has seen better days.

sad part... i have a 1970 aluminum boat i got from my grandpa when he passed. clean that up and tow it! lol that would be classic.

not sure, just picked it up to drive for a while always looking for a 67 thru 69 though so if the right deal comes along then I will sell or trade.

That thing has aftermarket accesories up the yin yang. To true car guys, they know it's an old grandpa mobile that he fixed up to be comfortable for himself. To most people, it's a dorky car with extra lights, mirrors, molding and junk all under the dash.

With that said, even if you bought the car for a few hundred, you aren't going to get rich by selling it.

I like the above posters idea, tow a small boat with it and you have a classic cruiser. Hell, see if you can key up Burt Reynolds on the CB while you're at it.

JC Whitney catalog written all over this car.....

Anybody notice the correct remote drivers side mirror, and the Early 2 post passenger side mirror ?

It's funny sometimes how people personalize their cars.

Even though I would have to change many things,I still like it. I believe my next build will be a grandpa 4 door, 408 sleeper model.
I want to show how a 4 door can be cool.

As far as price ? It's worth only as much as someone will hand you.

think i did good for $800. no rust and drove it home. might have to start modding it and like you said show a 4 door can be cool to..... still would trade it plus cash for a 67 thru 69. something about the tail lights that I just like more.

I see sleeper there.

Stroker small block, efi intercooled turbo setup, ultra quiet exhaust, widen the steel wheels a couple inches on the backside, cal-tracs/mono leafs, dot drag radials.

Leave the hitch, the CB, the shelf, everything...

For $800, to quote a movie, "ya did good kid."
