Indy 360 Crate Motor $4,995.00

I can safely say NO Indy parts will be on my 360... Not just from this experience either..

Find a competent local shop for machine work and build it yourself - that's what I did with my Ford 302...

had the same your stupid and were rocket scienentist with them not giving them any bus, meet one guy who milled there name off his heads he disliked them so much cant say as i blame him, im an mrl and hughes engines guy they both are smart and will talk to you:D

I have a 68 Barracuda that had a slant six. I want to drop a 360 in but have no drive train so I have to buy the whole enchilada. I was thinking of the Indy crate motor and I am glad I came across this forum. Now I am thinking of going with a 360 rebuilt motor not a stroker. Too much money. I found one, S and J and their motors run around $1600 but are built to OEM specs. They come minus valve covers, intake, oil pan, carb and timing chain cover. That might be a plus. I wish I could find a respected 360 builder in the Kansas City area. I owe you all big time for this information on Indy.

I sent you a PM telling you about a respected builder in the KC area, and I know another in Lees Summit. You didn't respond, so I just assumed you weren't interested?!?!

I also have most of the stuff you would need to build a decent 360 cheap.

Go out and checkout a few local engine shops. Don't make up your mind, just check them all out and ask a few questions.

My engine rebuild started off with one shop breaking down the engine and another shop doing everything else. I went there, talk it over after it was apart, not even checking they go putting down milling decks, etc. Thought about it overnight and showed up first thing the next day and yank it all out of there and gave them the $250 they wanted.

Ran everything to the shop I almost went with the first time and all went fine. Shop was dirtier, guys smoking in the shop, etc but they did good work.

So far it has 5,500 miles with 3.91 gears-no OD or slow speeds-lol and all is good.

Although my experience dealing with Indy was not great. They still provide some really cool high end racing parts.I would not wish to lose such a manufacture in the Mopar racing world. I would just recommend anyone purchasing parts from them go through a dealer rather than subjecting yourself to the abuse of dealing directly with them.

Love the small block 360-1 heads I bought from them years ago when they first came out.
