Suggested Speed Limit Signs

FWIW, i was told by an ex cop that if the suggested cornering speed was lets say 20mph, and lets say the normal speed limit is 45. If you get a ticket for going 30 in the turn, you can beat it if you can prove your car can safely go faster through that turn. Ie. if you have a Lamborghini. interesting fact.

although i doubt you will get in trouble for going faster than suggested as long as its under the posted limit, and your not sideways with your tires squealing or something crazy like that.

But, if you don't know the road obey the signs. sometimes the sign says 5mph or 15mph and means it!

Back in 2000, a movie was released that starred Danny DeVita and Bette Midler called "Drowning Mona." It took place in a small town. EVERY CAR IN IT (except for a camouflaged Omni) was a Yugo! One of the cars in the movie would only run in reverse, so every time you saw it going down the road, it was going backwards.

The last time I drove through Oregon, the road signs had no mention of a speed limit. They looked like suggestions to me. They said: "Speed 65" or "Speed 45." Never saw the word limit.
:wack:
Made me wonder if it was possible to get a ticket there for speeding, since they didn't seem to have any limits, as such.

Anybody here from Oregon???
