Clearancing block for starter

I had to do a little light grinding on the larger ears on the pan rail surface on my 5.7 so the starter would seat a little cleaner. You wouldn't really even notice I did it if you didn't look close. I think the starter actually bolted up without having to grind anything, but it would have been riding on the block the whole time, so I imagine I may have had an issue in the long run. I think the outside of the blocks are the same between a 5.7 and 6.1, so you'd probably have to do something similar. I just used a stock mini starter from a late model Dakota.
