I have a '72 Swinger with /6 and power steering and automatic transmission (column shift) and a '71 Swinger with /6, manual steering and three-on-the-tree manual transmission. I want to swap out the power steering into the '71. I am thinking it will require only switching out the steering shafts (I want to keep the housings in their current locations of course) but can it really be that simple??

You'll need the pitman arm as well. Might be a good time to buy a new arm if the original is worn out.

I didn't mess with switching out the steering shaft on mine. I used one of those firmfeel adapters instead. Just make sure you shift it into neutral and drop the column down so you don't mess up any of the linkages when you're putting the box on.
