I wonder if you went through the DMV and requested the same numbers on a new "personalized" plate, and they were available, you could just pop the old ones on with the new stickers?

I'm hoping the new ones will be noticeably different than the original Plates so the guys with their cherished originals can still have that esteem. I have enough "Period Correct" guys telling me what's "wrong" with my daily driver but would love some black plates on a black car.
