Difference between Edelbrock Performer/Thunder?

I am in the very early planning stages and collecting information on what the 360 build will cost. It will be a street only car. I was wondering what the difference was between the Edelbrock Performer and Thunder AVS carbs other than the ability to make easier adjustments on the Thunder? Which would be "better" for a street driven car? Finally, what type of horsepower can I expect from a 360 with stock ported heads, bigger than stock cam, aluminum intake/4-barrel headers, and other goodies you all are sure to recommend. Thanks in advance. Everyone on this forum has been a great help in getting me to think "realistically" if you know what I mean. :newb:
