Alright well i have my interior completely stripped and im ready to coat the floor and the rest of the inside of the bcuda. I refuse to pay 145 bucks for a gallon of por 15 so is there anything else I can use that works similar to it? I want good protection so the cheap 3 dollar rattle can treatment just wont cut it. what have you guys used?

Rustmort (rustoleum product) is another option. I used it on mine, it seemed to do a good job. You can get it at Autozone.

You wont need a gallon....I por'd my kframe and it took about 3-4 tablespoons to do it! It covers amazing and not a single brush stroke.

I have had great success on the hidden parts by applying the POR and then while it is still tacky, top coat it with rustoleum spray in the color of choice.

That k frame looks pretty good. Im a little worried that i wont have enough por15 if i just get a quart. (thinking about covering a lot of metal) I think im going to look into the rustmort and rust bullet options. thanks everyone.

1 Qt should be plenty to paint a K frame. Eastwoods Rust Encapsulator works real good & got better test results than POR-15. Rust bullet is supposed to work well too, but I have only used it for internal panels like inside structure behind quarter panels & rockes. I

One quart of the Rustmort will go a looong way. It actually comes in small plastic bottles, pints I think. I covered a large area in my car and didn't use 2 pints.

It seemed to neutralize the rust pretty good. I painted afterwards and have no rust bleed through.

X2 I bought a quart of POR 15 Semi Gloss and used it on my engine bay, trunk, a tool box, and some other minor projects and have barely used 1/4 of it. I have it in the fridge in a glass jar. I'm going to do my floors next and can't see using more than 1/2 a cup of the stuff.

I would avoid the Semi Gloss though because the semi-and gloss aren't very even when painting over any existing coating. Over bare metal it looks great though.

I filled a rattle can paint cap full of por15 and did my whole engine compartment. It covers very well but wear rubber gloves. the stuff is hard to get off skin.

I bought a gallon of Zero Rust and applied it by brush. After doing my COMPLETE interior and trunk, I still have about two quarts left. Took the stuff a week to fully cure, but it is as hard as a rock now.

I used about a half a quart of POR-15 for the interior and have enough to finish the trunk. Used those throw away foam brushes.
