Hi from Australia!

Good evening everybody.

I'm Kiko Willers and I will be needing some help restoring my Brazillian 1970 Dodge Dart.

I currently live in Australia, but I'm originally from Brazil. Back in Brazil I was a big fan of the Dodge family and in 2001 I found a 1970 Dart with 52,000Km which I promptly bought and had restored.

In 2007 I migrated to Australia and decided not to sell the Dart (it had 62,000km at the time), but put it in storage with the hope that one day I could bring it to Australia - well, that finally happened! My Dart travelled half the world to be in my garage once again!

I've started going through the car to find all that needs fixing - and believe, there's lots. The 5 years of storage have not been kind to the car, the original paint is pretty much dead and everthing that could go wrong seems to be going wrong at the same time. It clearly shows that at 42 years of age is when things start to break down on Dodges... hehehe...

The restoration is going to be slow and I plan to keep the car drivable for as long as possible before I need to park it for a new paint job. I'm taking the opportunity to do much of the work myself so there's a lot that I need to learn - and this is the reason I registered here.

For your reference, the brazillian 1970 Dodge Dart is very similar to the american 1969 Dart, so I've been able to find most of the parts I need, but there's always the tricky ones so I hope I'll be able to get some knowledge from other forum members.

Well, that's it. I'll be writing again soon with some queries, and maybe some pics of the car.

Cheers,

Kiko
