I sent the tech line a msg on the bad reviews on the variable tone new dynomaxes
where the flapper valve inside the muffler was noisy....this is their response.........

Thank you for your inquiry for Dynomax Exhaust. We appreciate your interest in our products. The valve in the VT muffler had a clearance change in late 2010. As long as a balance tube is used in a dual muffler system there will not be any valve rattle at idle.

If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact our tech line at the number below.

Thank You,
Adam Stacy

New fandangled noise suppressors eh? With the mufflers my Signet has, if it needs to be quieter I just remove 5 or 6 of the discs. Have had these mufflers on here since 1989

Love Supertrapps! My ex boss still has the repack kits,on the shelf!(lol)

FYI I just installed a set of 3" VT mufflers on a 2003 supercharged mercury marauder. Dead quiet at idle. Almost like " oh no officer that couldn't have been my car" lol. But they are LOUD at 1/2 to full throttle. Much louder at full throttle than the 18" magnaflows I took off. Almost as loud as the stainless works mufflers that we're on originally.

I am not sure if the customer likes them or not. Oh and there is no rattle at idle so far.

Garth
