Insurance and swaps.

I called haggerty for the scamp and they gave a $900 annual premium for my car when finished with an agreed value of $45,000. They went so far to insure the car up to $25,000 while I was restoring it because I told them it's all original sheet metal with no patch panels so in order to replace the car in case of a loss during restoration.

I currently have the car insured on my wifes Liberty Mutual Policy with an agreed value of $9,000 full coverage with a $100 deductable full coverage for $250 a year But as soon as she is in paint I will be switching to Haggerty.

I went through Grundy, and got $50,000 for $450

Californian here.

As long as your car is '74 or older, there's no problem. If I recall correctly, we used to have the emissions exemption roll over each year so that if your car was 30 years old, it was exempt. however, they stopped the roll-over in 2004.

Pssst, it's 1975 AND older. 1976 AND newer need biannual smog inspections.

Rev, your humor is so flippin' funny!!!!

Yep, just ask the retard with the 1976 GMC pickup. Oh wait, that's me.:tard:

Cheer up, there is a bill in California to exempt pre 81 cars. It's stuck in committee but I think it will EVENTUALLY get through.

I don't know about you guys but I have Allied (Nationwide) insurance (full coverage) on my '70 Duster and as long as I get it appraised and keep track of receipts for parts and work I can insure it for however much it's appraised for. I built a new 360 for it and upgraded/restored most of the mechanicals and hope to get it appraised for at least $6000 (originally worth $3000) once I finish up a few more major things.

I'm also pretty sure I have no limit on mileage, I've never had to give the insurance co. any mileage numbers. Good thing too because I drive my Duster every chance I get, I put probably 3000 miles on it in the last 5 months.
