Yes it does shrink, peels and turns yellow over time.
All the bottom strips on the 1967 through the 1969 Barracuda and Dart convertibles were plastic. The fastbacks and the notchbacks had the different stainless trim starting in 1968.
Now its coming back to me (brain freeze).
I had a 67 notch 20 years ago. I do not understand how these small
things confuse me lol. Glad I am not working on aircrafts because I
would forget the bolt that holds the engines in, funny in a way
but not in real life (this has happened before DC 10) If I recall.

Ps Less shrinkage and yellowing with these classic a bodys because they
stored in a garage, than sitting on the street in the 60s.
