I think I've finally found the culprit that is causing my loss of braking power. I have a 1971 dodge dart swinger with a 225/6 engine. Front discs rear drums with a booster. Does anyone know where I can find a good brake booster for my duel chamber master cylinder?

the internet is your friend. rock auto, advance auto, jims auto parts......there are a number of places that have them or can order them for you.

If your car is not a DD, send it off to "Booster Dewey" in Portland OR. He's done 2 for me.

SSBC also makes a new one order with bracket
mine was DD and no one had a reman in stock anywhere in the US
so i bought new for around 300.00 shipper overnight

How much is the rebuild from booster Dewey?

$300 overnight for just the booster? Wow. I didn't realize that boosters were so much $$$

I've got the same problem on my 69 B-Cuda. The booster is going, and I can't find one, any where in the country. Tried over a dozen on line places, and no one has a replacement, and can't order them. My 69 is four wheel power drum.

This is the 2nd one he did for me. I bought it from another member who drop shipped it to him. Internally it was pretty stuffed so it took a bit of extra work to repair the internals. I opted for the gold anodizing as original. Including shipping it was right at $300. The first one I sent him was about $225. Pleased with both of them - youbetcha!

I checked summit racing and all of the websites above and I didn't have much luck. Anyone have a part number or a number to call?

I found a pancake style booster on sumittracing. Will this style work for my car? 71 dodge dart swinger 225/6 engine. Front disc rear drum dual chamber master cylinder.

Firefighter1, try www.brakeco.com website or call them at 1-877-525-5233. They will be able to help you. I bought my booster from them in 2007 and I am pleased. At that time I paid 149.95 plus 100.00 core charge. Core charge was refunded. They are still in business, they were located in Rancho Mirage, CA.

The prices amazed me too. I put a booster/MC from a ~99 Breeze in my 65 Dart, using brackets and lever from a 73 Dart. Cheap at PickNPull. I just had to file the holes a little on the brackets. Many would work, but note that later MC's use bubble flares (see youtube to make). My MC has standard inverted flares.

I fixed the booster in my 65 Newport by cutting a new diaphragm from neoprene rubber sheet. Works in test, but haven't run much yet. That is a Midland-Ross with bolted clamp, so easy to disassemble.

Hi guys,
So I've had a lot of difficulty finding the booster online. I ordered one from sumittracing and it was the wrong one. I called SSBC and the lady said they don't have anything for me. I also called brakeco.com and the guy said he could rebuild my booster but doesn't carry them. I called rock auto and they said that they had nothing for me. I also called napa auto and autozone and oreily they all said that they do not have the part and it is on back order. I just want to let u guys know the current state of need for a good seller for brake boosters for 1971 dodge dart swingers with 225/6 engines. I've tried my best to find a new one but I guess I'll have to get mine rebuilt. Thanks guys.

I looked at the rockauto one. Strange that the MC shown is for drum-drum even though they state for front disks. Price isn't bad at $126, but shipping both ways will hurt.

I could have gone that way on my 65 Dart, but those old cast iron MC's are heavy and by going modern I won't get orphaned, and a booster isn't original to my car anyway. Paying $25 at the junkyard maintains my CMB image.

I placed an order with rock auto and then cancelled it because they told me that they would need me to send my booster in to rebuild. I was looking to replace my old booster.

There's also a place in downtown Sacramento, Ca. called "power brake booster company" or some such name and they have all the parts you'll need. They're very knowledgeable of Mopar brake boosters.

Your close on the company's name.
Power Brake Sales, is the official name of the company.
Delt with them in the past, when i was a wrenching mechanic, in mid town Sacramento.
Good people to do business with.
A link to their site, above.

Thanks. PBS is a bingo for me, since shipping is the killer. Never ran across them before. I filed it away.

I'll try them on Monday first thing. Thanks guys.

So I called them today. Nothing in stock yet again. I think I'm going to vas in and send them my old booster to have them rebuild. I was wondering if that what you did or if you got a new one? What was the outcome? Thanks.
