I was looking for a saiga sporter rifle in .223 and now they are all F-N gone. All calibers. Alllllll f-n calibers.

Are we at that point?
Have we bought them all up?
Are we at the beginning of the end?
The fear of a perfectly functioning rifle has prevailed or the desire for a perfectly functioning rifle has exhausted supplies!

My old saiga kills a 12" steel at 185 yards 10 of 10 with a reflex dot on a bench.
I want another eight!

Well, when elections come around, every body stocks up on them.

I ordered a Springfield M1A Scout Squad rifle back in March or April. Paid up in cash too. The FFL is a friend, super reliable, and really good at getting stuff. It is the 1st of September and I'm still waiting.

Cool! I have been looking at those scouts. I read some mixed impressions on their accuracy, never know about those internet sites though. I believe I was looking at the basic scout rifle.
My neighbor is a Vietnam Vet and collects rifles. We shot his very nice winchester Garand. Fine machine I thought. Probably only had 80 or 100 rounds its entire life.
Kind of green parkerizing.

Anyways, I am looking seriously at the Saiga .308 and the Vepr .308 with a 20" barrel. Heard people having great 100 yard groupings with the Saiga (great for a semi-auto).

Even SKS's are getting hard to find. I located a Norinco SKS at a local pawn shop. He hadn't priced it yet. I have seen a few Bulgarian versions with the grenade launcher attachment for sale at some of the local pawn shops. But finding a good Russian SKS right now is almost impossible.

Same goes for the Saiga 7.62 x 39s. Just can't find them right now. I have better luck finding the American assembled AKs. CTD still has some of those.

Election time plus the way things are going everyone seems to be buying anything and everything they can get their hands on. And of course once again shops are taking advantage by driving the prices way up. Just a matter of months ago Saigas where $299, now most are almost or at $400. I plan on waiting the few months for prices to come back down to reality. Only good day coming up might be black friday, I ended up getting half priced ammo from Wally world last year.

I heard and read similar pro's and cons. I joined the M1A forum and they spell it out. Certain factory parts, I can't remember what but it seemed to have something to do with the gas block, could be changed out for better ones sold through Brownells that will greatly improve its accuracy. I'm not looking for a tack driver so I'll start with the simplest mods and move up from there until I get it the way I want it. If and when it ever comes in. Gun Broker has two and they start at $1650 and are used.

Mine, in my opinion shoots outstandingly well. ZERO operation errors and have about 2k rounds thru it. Accuracy = I can hit a 12" steel at 165 yards 10 of 10 all day running wolf wpa fmj. I have a new range on our property where we have a nice pick nick table bench and brace the rifle it on it's bipod. Thats all I know. I guess thats not new news. I am looking at a 5.45 sporter next now that things are better.

Apparently when you guys have an ammo buying spree.....we are left with nothing here.

What are the logistics to owning a rifle or pistol where you are.

First, is it the whole country having the same regulations?

An AU acquaintance who doesn't know much about the subject said if you pass a few qualifications and checks, you can own most any gun. He also mentioned that most all farmers have long rifles.

Was in an Attwoods farm supply earlier today. The ammo was up nearly double what I paid last month. No .22 shells at all! And the .223 was $24 a box! Box of 20! And not match grade stuff! Cheapest was $15 a box. Gentlemen, I think we have a problem on our hands.........

I am sure others can name plenty of good sites.

I mean, if you are going for hi perf, precision purpose designed hunting or competetion rounds, they are expensive. If you are going for target, plinking and good accuracy just get on the internet and get some bulk. My bud gets .223 wpa and it yields good accuracy.

Yea, I don't see any on yonder internet computer box either.
That's stupid. How am I going to get me a squirrel this year? With my friggin mossberg pump?

Guess I'll borrow my neighbor's 22-250 and make brown dust.. jk.

I haven't seen a box of .22 shells on a store shelf in months.
