Hi There,

Does anyone know if you can purchase the rear interior plastic panel which house the rear arm rests? I just notice that I have a chunck missing out of mine.

If they are not available new, does anyone know somebody selling any?

Thanks so much in advance

Cheers,

GT

P.S.

Layson's has them, but when I saw them they looked like..... well, you know not real good.

I've read that those parts for Dart and Barracuda are a little different.
Hope this helps

Thanks Dave, sent you a PM.

Are the rear panel the same for a 67, 68 and 69 dart?

Hi Jim,

You mentioned the Layson's panel.....not so good. What was wrong with them?

Thanks,
Mike

Mike,
I heard the same thing. save your money. everybody that i have talked to said that they wish they bought used set or just fixed there originals.

They are not made as the originals were due to the process. The chrome strip is not even close to correct. Basically, it's a poor facsimile for a premium price.

when I did my car there were not as many parts available as today.

since I was not going original looks this is how my car was done to repair the rear panels. They were not too bad and could have been plastic welded and painted, but afraid the paint would scratch too eay so had the interior all custom done and this is how it turned out.

made longer arm rest and removed the ash trays, covered the panels with the same material as the seats

IMO it was a good option over painting the panels that are under the soft material

Wildcat,
Those look amazing! I like the direction you went with them.

With a bit of work, one piece of the stainless trim from a door will skin over the original chromed plastic trim.

Those look great Wildcat.

I'm going to hook up with DavesCuda in CT. Thanks for everyones help.

Cheers,

Mike

Hey Davescuda,

It was great getting a chance to meet with you. Thanks for taking the time to show me around your place. You have a great selection of parts and cars.

Hopefully, I can get out your way again at the end of August for the Mopar show in Vernon CT. I will be sure to give you a ring if I do.

Thanks again,

Mike

Hey Dave,

I was out your way but couldn't get away from work to come and see you, maybe next time.

Did you ever get a chance to look for the convertible top header piece?

Thanks,

Mike
