Photos of the problem area always help.

cut it with a sawzall. Install a new grade 8 bolt with the head on the bottom. problem solved.

also, its a 9/16 fine thread bolt i think...you might have to get that bolt at the autoparts store...seems like moog sells a new idler arm with this bolt...see the pic...

I would put it in the correct direction. Can't you just loosen the passenger side motor mount, place a jack in a good spot and jack up one side of the motor? The only thing I can think of that would give a problem would be if you have a fan shroud. The reason it has a nut on the bottom is so if the nut falls off the bolt can't fall out. Red Lock-Tite would be a possible answer if you had to install it upside own.

yeah I got the mmog kit and it has a new bolt. Might have to cut it, not worried about the new one falling out as it has a castle nut and cotter pin so no need for locktite. Just thought maybe there was a trick to getting it out without cutting. Time to bust out the dremel with the cutting wheel.

That is different. The ones I have always bought only had one castle nut and one cotter key to fit the ball end of the idler arm.

Dude! It's a lot easier to undo two motor mount nuts, and jack up the engine about 2 inches. Just my opinion ...

I have always found that pretty quick too.

i find it easier to support the engine and drop the car into a pit about 3 inches to get to the bolt,,,, JK. sorry i couldn't resist.:toothy8:

I think its easier to just have the bolt installed the other way...it aint gonna fall out...
