We have owned 4 of these, 2 NOS ones, a new take-off and a used one. Also seen many others, never seen one with a black tip. Maybe the dealer took it off or painted it black to hide the tip? Maybe the end cover fell off? Even all the factory photo's I have seen they had the stainless tip.
