Ok, I haven't been around much, since I no longer own an A body, but I still love checking this place out once in a while. Hope you all are doing well!

I found something really interesting today. A guy that works for a Dodge dealership, over on Challengertalk.com is claiming to have had a couple "S" type Valiants, with factory 4 wheel disc brakes. :D

"both my Valiant S had 4 wheel manual disc brakes, 4 piston calipers in the front, kelsey hayes, i still to this day have a set kicking around somewhere, they were junk at best, always leaking or seized

Luke"

This is news to me, and I remember these cars when they were new! Anyone ever seen one?

No such car as a Valiant "S", and NO "Mopar" car from the 60's or early 70's EVER came with factory rear disc brakes!! He must be mistaken, and I would love to see a pic of the setup he claims to still have, my money is that it's the fronts!! Won't be able to produce any information, pics or part numbers for the rears, cause there wasn't any!! Geof

Not totally true. I have never seen an A with 4 wheel discs but at least some Imperials had 4 wheel disc brakes, and ABS too.

Wow reading his post I guess he knows more than everyone here. He had some really rare cars that I am sure also included the big blocks from the factory in the early a bodies.lol

Shoot no! They was them there Hemi Sixpack Valiant S models, with the factory Lenco trans and Dana 70 rear. The only engine options were factory zoomie headers and chrome plated blocks. These only came with pearl or metal flake paint, angel hair on the dash, and velour seats. The real story was the independant rear suspension, and the coilover shocks at all four corners.:wack:

I had typed out that he had 2 of 0, but I think he already knows he has been caught in a lie.

Heck the mechanics I was learning from back in the mid 60s, weren't sold on disc brakes and were just getting used to alternators. :D

No such car as a Valiant "S",

I'm not so sure about that. All the "S" parts for the Barracuda, were available on the Valiant. I seem to recall reading about a "S" Valiant about a year ago. However I will admit I could be wrong, as I have never seen any documentation.

You could get it with the suspension and the same motor as The Barracuda but not an S package. I would like to see a Valiant S emblem if so.
