Ok I need to purchase a carb for my 360 Demon and I am looking for suggestions on which carb to buy Holley or Edlebrock. Let me know your thoughts, engine is stock, I'm running a Edelbrock Torker two Intake and a 4 spd trans with 3:55 gears, car is used for cruising and not racing.

The Torker II intake is a single plane, since your engine is otherwise stock, you would probably want a nice dual plane instead, I think that would be better for your combo since you aren't running a huge cam or anything. The single plane is more for a high-rev race motor that needs LOTS of air and fuel. Its going to kill all your low-end torque.

Right now I'm running an Edelbrock 1406 600cfm carb on a pretty stock, but cammed-n-headered 360 and I've developed an issue with it that I can't sort out at the moment. It ran great for a few years but was calibrated pretty lean out of the box, I had to re-jet on both primary and secondaries to feed my combo properly. I called Holley and they recommended the list 80457 carb for my combo. If I had the money I'd buy one right now b/c my edelbrock issue has rendered the car un-driveable at the moment and even edelbrocks techs are stumped. Just my $.02.

i have a 2176 performer intake with a 1406 eddy carb on my 318 that runs perfect. i have a 1850 holley 600 on my 360 with a 8007 weiand action plus intake , 284/480 cam that also runs perfect after a little fine tuning. (IMO) i would stay away from any 1407 750 eddy carbs, i have had nothing but problems with them. ive also been through 2 1406 eddy carbs before i got one with a decent idle circuit. im also at 6,000 feet.

Carter THERMOQUAD, or maybe one of the new street Demons on a dual plane intake of some kind, just make sure it has the larger ports/plenum intended for the 340/360 and the proper mounting pad to mount the carburetor used (adapters cost efficiency/performance).
It's really hard to beat the performance of a stock manifold if the weight of cast iron doesn't bother you.

My bad I am running the Edelbrock 2176 Performer Intake, I changed from the
Torker II, I am also running Headers with 2 1/2" pipes and flowmasters

This subject again?!?! Beat to death it is.

no worrys holly 680 street avenger or carter thermoquad would be fine choices

We run a Thunder 800 AVS on a stock 74 26K original mile 440 (headers, orange box and 2.5 duals are only mods).

I only set it on the intake and adjusted the idle screws. That was 4 years ago. We put about 3K miles on it so far. It just runs perfectly.
I start the car once a week, warm it up good. And we drive it several times a year.

Ok, they make a 650 cfm AVS Thunder series. That is what I suggest for a low maintenance carb. On the other hand, my 74 360 came with a TQ, so I believe they are 800 cfm. If you were planning on running more power later I would just buy the 800 AVS and then you would only have to buy the carb once for your future power needs. Jet accordingly for the basic motor. Re-jet a little bigger for your next motor.
