I have Mopar SS springs (2800LBS) on my Dart. There are different P/Ns for the left and right spring and the only difference I can see is that the bottom leaf (really just a half leave) is pointed in different directions. One points to the front, the other one points to the rear.

My questions why, and if I point them both to the front, will my car sit more level in the rear. Right now the left side is a bit lower.

Springs are new and the front suspension height is set correctly and the front end was aligned. I assume it has something to do when you go to the track, making the front end lift more towrds the right side? I just drive on the street and would prefer my car to sit even.

Thanks for any input.

Still, my question is if I turn the bottom leaf around on the left side towards the front would that level the ride height?

P/Ns are P4120864 and P4120863

I don't know how you would do that.

What you can do is adjust the torsion bars until it's level. But really, those springs were designed for drag racing not aesthetics.

SS springs are for drag racing. If you dont want to replace them you could replace the front spring hanger. Somebody makes on that is adjustable. Bolts in stock location but has different holes that allow you to move the front of the spring up.

I just got done adding blocks between the axle and the springs; since the axle sits on top of the spring it lowered the rear end. There is no more than 1/4" in height difference at the rear and as an added benefit my Dart is level now front to rear. I am not a fan of the "raised" rear end look.

The spacer I made are 5/8 x 2 1/2 x 8, I also had to make longer center bolts.

I was told by a chrysler parts guy that the even number is the right side and odd
is left drivers side and there is a small difference in the packs and that is why the are numbered even and odd with different numbers.
Cheers.

they are arched differently as well , the idea is to put the stiffer /taller spring on the passenger /torque side of the car so the car will launch straight , as others have said swap them for some stock or xhd springs if you want to level the car .

Except that I just put some heavy duty springs on mine (from Springs N THings online) and the driver side is nearly 3/4" lower. Then I sit in the car and I'm sure its probably 1 1/2" lower on left side. I'm pissed about it, havent contacted them yet...

it shouldn't be that much , are they Mopar springs or repro's ? both of my other sets of Mopar springs sat pretty level just too low for my liking so I bought the 002/003 SS springs .The last set I had in were XHD's but for the lighter cars and didn't hold up under my car .

I'm not sure if they're peddling re-arched original mopar springs or repro's. I just went with them due to a recommend from someone on this site. To me it looks like they are used, re-arched, re-painted springs. I ordered the XHD with an extra 2" of lift (paid extra for that) and received springs that gave me no extra lift whatsoever. In fact, last night I put a lift kit on it so my tires wouldnt rub. I'm bummed about it, looks like crap. The whole reason I ordered new springs was to get more lift and avoid using a shackle lift kit.

Where did you get the SS springs and how much did they cost, if you dont mind me askin?

I was wondering if anyone was going to mention that. :prayer:

I got my SS Springs from Summit or Jegs for $109 or $119 each, so less than $240 total.
I love them, but I have 1" torsion bars up front so I'm not sure how much that factors in.

I have 002 / 003 superstock springs on my '70 dart. matched with mopar performance extended shocks, car sits dead level. Springs / shocks are from my dodge parts dept.... only difference b/t the left and right spring was the beefier front segment on the right (002) spring ....

I've posted this in a couple of places here on FABO to get the word out , the 002/003 SS springs are still available from Ma Mopar look online for the performance catalog part number and call you local dealer , they are cheaper than most third party knock offs to boot , I paid $294 plus tax for mine a couple of weeks ago and that was the Canadian price ,you guys get them for less than 250 and the best part is no shipping Ma Mopar ships em to your local dealer on her dime you pick em up there simple .

there was an argument about the mopar ss springs being made in mexico and were junk .... apparently the early ones were made in Michigan

But i put the 002/003 springs, that i bought last year, on my 67 dart Car has yet to move under its own power. Yes mine have a "made in mexico" stamping

So whats your point ? mine work fine and hit the tires so hard I probably don't need a snubber and that's with 500+ ft lbs of tq , Who cares if they are made in Mexico or Zimbabwa ? has your car sagged in the year it's been sitting ? How about we stick to calling things junk after they actually fail and prove themselves to be junk , leave the rumours for daytime tv .

the point was to give a heads up if someone was worried about the made in mexico thing.

I personally do not believe in that crap but some people are concerned with that issue. I cant find the thread on that red flag ... maybe it was another forum. I only remember that because it caught me off guard when i stumbled on that thread a few years ago after i bought my ss springs as i already assumed they were always made in mexico.
