I saw it listed in jeg's.....$18,000.00.....they have is listed at 615 hp.....i thought they were advertised at 590 hp.....it showed they were using 6.4 aluminum hemi heads.....are they being advertised anywhere cheaper than $18,000.00.....i was trying to find out the shipping weight.....i saw in one of your ad's the crate was for sale from a sb and they said that it was 40 pounds.....jeg's said they had no idea what the shipping weight was.....but they could find out by calling mopar performance.....if i really wanted to know.....

The block alone is 5,250 through Arrington and they are sold out. Still only has 4 bolts per cyl. Thats a lot of coin to save weight.

I can build you a GEN3 hemi for far less money and make 700ish horsepower at the flywheel with a cam you can drive anywhere with a 3k stall.

Hell if your going to spend thast much get the real Hemi.

I am as big a fan of a the GEN II hemi as the next guy, and if I were building a drag car, and if I had the cash it would be on my dream motor. Nothing looks as bad A$$ as a Gen II hemi.

All that being said, if I were building a pro-touring, autocross, or street cruiser I think it's really hard to beat the Gen III Hemi. First off power, stock block Gen III Hemis are putting out well over 1000 Hp. That sounds like real hemi numbers to me. Second durability, a 400-500 HP Gen III hemi is easily a 100,000 Mile motor. Third weight reduction, a Gen III Hemi weighs a MINIMUM of 200 LBS less on front end. Throw in an aluminum block and your probably going to knock another 100 LBS off the front end.

Want your car to corner? Run a Gen III Hemi.

Joe Dokes

I think i would just build a sleeved 6.1 based gen III.... there is all the stregth and reliability there and probibly less to resleeve.

For that much coin why not build a R3/W9 small block? More power and better fitment....
