I am getting the measurment for the new drive shaft. Have a 904 and will have 1350 joints. Most everything I have read says to shove it all the way in to bottom out and then pull out about 3/4 to 1". The rear seal has the normal extended boot on it and I can push the yoke till the start of the radius of the yoke just touches the seal boot portion, but then you can shove it in even further to actually bottom the yoke in the tranny. If I push it all the way to bottom in the tranny and then pull out the 3/4 to 1", it will still have the boot collapsed somewhat. Appreciate your thoughts. BTW the yoke is a Mark Williams unit.

I just researched this, Mopar says 3 1/2 in from the very rear edge of the case .....

The amount the slip yokes ground hub area is inside the trans depends on the overall length of the slips ground hub area.

When you take the measurement just bottom it out and bring that and the slip you used to make that c to c measurement to your local driveline shop and they'll make the adjustments you need, or speak with your local driveline shop and ask them how they want it measured.

Supershafts......Thanks. This is why I got on the forum for my question. The local shop just told me to bottom in the trans and then pull out the 3/4 to 1", but the dilemna was the dust boot on the seal as noted in the original message. The yoke is pretty long and I am sure there would be gobs of engagement even if the radius edge of the yoke was 1/2" to 3/4" from the back edge of the seal boot. Just trying to not do anything wrong.

OK, thanks....is this 3 1/2 from the very rear edge of the case to the center of the joint on the yoke?

no... 3 1/2 of yoke inside as measured from the very edge, mark the yoke 3 1/2 up from the end that slides in the tranny and make the mark even with the very edge of the case...If you want the Mopar reference guide number and exact wording let me know

Are you pulling it from the dust seal or the trans seal ?

Bottom the yoke out completely even if it is crushing the dust seal, then either give them that measurement or pull it back 1" , regardless of what the situation is with the dust seal.
When the shop see's the slip you're using they can make further adjustments if there is room to make such adjustments, again depending on the slips GH area.
