Hemi - Real Vintage Mopar, not A-body - GREAT STORY!

Was at a Cruise-in at Culver's in Grand Forks, ND tonight and several cool mopars, but one in particular stood out. This 1940 Dodge coupe is a real sleeper, survivor, vintage hot rod. It has a 1953 Red Ram hemi w/53 drive-train with manual trans. The owner told me that his uncle did the engine/drive-train swap in 1956 and it was registered until 1984 (I think) It was then stored in a barn until a year or two ago. His uncle passed away and the he inherited the car. He was told the engine was shot, so let it sit for about a year longer. Then decided to pull it out of moth balls. He tuned up the engine, and it started and ran "ok" but smokes a little. He replaced suspension parts, upgraded wheels and tires and has been driving and showing it for about a year. 72 year old Dodge, with a 59 year old hemi, that was hot rodded 56 years ago and is going strong! PURE HOT ROD GOLD?

BTW, that's my car-crazy 4 year old Grandson. He had a blast tonight.

There are a couple other nice mopars from the cruise-in as well.
