I had Sanderson Headers weld me up a set of shorty headers for my 66 Dart 318 m/steering, original v8 car. They fit perfect. Give them a call . This is not a joke. Talk to Fransisco .

"The DD7 header set is designed to fit small block Chrysler (318-360) V8 engines in Dodge, Chrysler, Plymouth applications, such as: Demon, Duster, Dart, and other Chyrsler A-Body chassis."

If I´m not wrong it´s for the third gen A-body.
Duster and Demon came 1970. Right??

Absolutely marvelous!!

I have a set of Harolds headers for sale they are brand new never install I am in them 400.00 if anybody would like them.

Took a quick look at the Sanderson's in the link that Joe posted. Not bad looking but beware the tube size.....1 1/2" is going to be restrictive.

$545 coated is a lot for 1 1/2" shorty.

TTI's are $680 for 1 3/4 stepped header. $640 nickel plated. Sure, that more money. But a lot more header.

Thing is the shorties might work with very lowered cars and may work. And MIGHT work with longer fast ratio pitmans.

autox,
where did you see the Nickel plated early a headers for that price?
i dont even see that as an option.

I think you are right AbodyJoe since Sanderson is here in the SF Bay Area and this guy shows that he is in Florida........

It's really kinda funny how lots of different subjects get kicked around in these forums for a long time and no definite answer ever appears. I've been looking for years now (like many others) for headers for my 64ragtop. Several times it seems I've heard that the Sanderson DD-7 won't fit our EARLY A-body cars. Well, today I bit the bullet and actually called Sanderson! The gent who answered the phone said he was Franciso. He told me that they had made two sets of headers for '66 Darts. He told me that the customers had to use Flaming River U-joints to replace the MOPAR rag joint, and the headers would NOT fit power steering. He also said that these headers are not in the catalog yet.

I asked if he could tell me who those customers were. (Well, of course not!!) Francisco did say that his customers told him they were going to let the FABO know about this new offering from Sanderson. Looking back at the beginning of this thread, I see that very early on the guy's credibility and sincerity were being questioned. I wonder if that might be why we haven't heard back from Dartster66. True, nobody ever died from hurt feelings, but lots of folks have gotten pretty ticked off from them.

Anyway, if ya call Sanderson, ask for Francisco. He is for real, and I would almost bet that if he's asked nicely you just might be able to post your own install pictures and get a nice sticky at the top of this forum.

Hey guys take it easy , I have pics that I'll put up as soon as I get in port . I'm a Yacht Capt and had to make a trip the day after I put them in . I get in on Sunday . I put the dd-7's in on the passenger side with no problem at all. The driver side is not bad as either. I had to remove the steering column , master cylinder for access and change out the power steering for manual. The steering shaft adapter provided by Flaming River passes through the header. My car is a 66 Factory V8 Dart w/ 388 hp 318 2400rpm stall converter and a 355 gear. I've been patiently working with Sanderson for 3 months.
