Carb Questions..HELP!

-
Hi Craig. I'm not as qualified as the rest of these guys but I have been battling that stumble for the last few weeks. I've been trying to jet/rod it and even bought new plugs but still the same stumble. Finally, today I replaced the ballast resistor on a whim and whoa-la! Stumble gone. Maybe worth a shot?

Well bought molley 750 , but switching on Monday to a 670 street avenger Holley . The Carter AVS I had would bog off the line , and it had been rebuilt and set up a few times . By Tuesday I'll let you know how it goes . Basically I have the same set up , 340 40 over , 10.5:1 forged pistons 274 comp cam , mild port on the heads and air gap intake .

Did anyone ever try the air valve adjustment on it? I have ran quite a few AVS carbs in different applications and never had any bog issues as long as the secondary air valve was adjusted correctly.

Yes we have tried everything , giving up on it , will keep it on the numbers matching block sitting in my garage . I built the motor in it now to beat at the track , guess a 42 year old carb just does not cut it . Most here say holley is going to work best on the track so I.m going for it .

Wow !! Holley is on , car runs smoother , starts faster , een starts in the cold . Electric choke works well , very well . So far great punch off the line , seems better all around , from start to top end . Hope the track is open this week so I can get a test run with no bog Cater on the car . Hilley started right up out of the box , just had to adjust choke and idle , other than that it runs great !

* Did you get to the track?

I just replaced an eddy1406 with a Holley 4777 and couldn't be happier. Car runs better with the Holley than it ever did with the eddy. Running a 360 with stock heads an lunati 288/.480 cam. Holley is the way to go IMO. More adjustability than the edelbrock/carter, I feel.
