........get a service manual, it will show u the proper procedure....1st off u loosen the top nut, back off the adjuster 1/2 turn.......go to the rear of the box[where the input shaft from the column comes in] loosen the big retaining ring, snug up the bearing by tuning clockwise, then backoff 1/8th turn.....tighten retainer......then turn the slotted adjuster till no play, back off 1/8th turn, then tighten lock nut.....then u should have next to nothing 4 play in the wheel.....make sure the 3 bolts holding the steering box to the frame are tight...kim.......
