I will read it further. I did notice the use of DFT. I am familiar with that. I am good at employing real-time math with simple methods. I also have experience with TMS320F2800 series DSP. I favor fixed point, over floating point units suggested.

By going ion sensing, I can completely eliminate the mechanical sensor issues. No need to worry about multiple sensors on a V8 and their location. Or the differences in iron vs aluminum heads and engines. The ion sense will check each cylinder and provide many other parameters beyond a knock sensing.

Before all that, I will go crank fire direct ignition.
