glass pack and and muscle car sound

I like some TONE in the car which glasspacks don't usually give you

I wish to hell I knew who made the 'same as" the old school Roadrunner/ GTX/ Superbee mufflers. Those things sounded GREAT

All you guys preachin' Thrush -- have they IMPROVED in the last few years? I can remember when you could NOT lift a Maremont/ or Walker ORIGINAL Corvair turbo in one hand, but I could take a pair of Thrush turbo knock offs and hold one in each hand out at arms length.

In our "Jeepin" days we used to run REAL turbo mufflers, that is, Walker,/ Maremont OEM type replacement for Corvair turbos They went on the 340 Landcruiser when I built it in about 1976, and were still on it when I junked it a couple years ago.

thrush has three basic lines of fullbodied mufflers from what i can remember right now, they have the realy flat ones i would guestimate the caseing to be 3 1/4x8" and the thicker ones that are about 4-4½x9-9½" the bigger ones still not what i would call heavy duty but about the same type of quality as walkers cheaper line of standardmufflers called "true fit" they last ok for what they cost but they are nowhere near a walker quietflow or a true stock muffler.

While I usually try and buy American flowmaster have been know to have bad welds inside also. Plenty of guys with loose parts inside them rattling around.

its pretty rare over here to hear about someone having a problem with a real flowmaster loosing a wingplate but have seen a few to many of the trush welded loose a plate turning them into metalmaracas, but it may just be that there is fewer musclecars around here running flowmasters. anyway good to learn alitle more:)
