I am thining about switching back to stock rally wheels on my Dart. A couple days ago I saw a chevy monte carlo with the gm rallys on it. The car hit a bump crossing the highway and both rear trim rings flew off of it. Anyone ever have this issue with the mopar rallys? This is the wheel I am referring to.

Aslong as you use stock rings, not aftermarket junk you shouldn,t have any problems losing them.I,ve never lost one yet.:D

Good to hear. I won't have factory rings though. I am going to buy all new parts from summit racing unless I can find a better price somewhere else.

I bought few sets of rallye wheels and trim rings from Summit and Jegs, they both sell Wheel Vintiques and have never lost a trim ring. I always buy the Wheel Vintiques rings to match.

I bought mine from Mopar.

I wouldn't worry about those Monte Carlo trim rings. If I was on a GM, I'd jump ship too.

...yes, if you have tires that are far too wide tire for a factory narrow rim
the tire sidewall may deflect out and hit the trim ring when you corner hard or hit a bump.

275-60-15 on a 15x5.5 no loss of trim ring or uneven tire wear and they have been on the car for 20+ years.

if the trim ring is noticeably wider than the wheel , this can happen.
my brother in law lost the occasional trim ring, 235/60/14 but on 5 1/2"magnum 500's on his RR

I can't recall losing a trim ring on any of my Mopars.
On the other hand, stuff falls off of Chevys all the time. :eek:ops:

This.

I have 235's on mine and never have lost a ring. In fact they are a little hard to take off because they are stuck on there so well.

I had aftermarket ones on my Scamp (pictured here- I like the chrome more than the stock ones) and I never had a problem either
