Way Cool Lower Control Arms

Those are really nice, BUT they don't work with torsion bars. They're a coilover conversion piece only.

Badart does AWESOME work. I have some of his parts, and plan to get more. But I don't really see the advantage to switching to coilovers on a chassis originally designed and intended for torsion bars. Not a knock on him at all, just my own opinion. With a few tweaks (like bigger bars, tubular UCA's and adjustable strut rods) the torsion bar suspension works great, and offers some unique advantages over a coilover set up.

I can see one advantage and thats clearance for headers etc. Just my 2C .

Yes, of course. But think about that- the torsion bars aren't you're only limiting factor. The steering box and center link/tie rod clearance is as much an issue as the bars, so unless you're ditching the factory K altogether, you're still going to need to buy A-body headers. Unless you're going the full custom header route, it will be hard to take advantage of the lack of torsion bars with the stock K and steering. I've never seen any headers/exhaust systems advertised for A-bodies without torsion bars but with the stock K and steering.

I'm not saying that they're aren't advantages to ditching the torsion bars. There's advantages and disadvantages to EVERY suspension system out there, suspension design is always a trade off. But the torsion bar systems easily adjustable ride height, low unsprung mass, and ability to carry the suspension forces in the crossmembers instead of in the uprights are pretty strong advantages. It does limit room for exhaust systems, makes changing the springs (torsion bars) somewhat difficult and time consuming, and separates the spring and shock. And of course, just by virtue of being different from everything else out there, tends to be harder for most folks to understand and tune properly.

Not the owner of cap products ,Never was joe just likes to start crap and that's what he did,I love the way you mature people follow one asshole in the crowd,HMMMM why is this country where it is??????????????? Followers not leaders --that could be it!!!!!!!!!!!

QA1 bought out cap ( i heard to avoid getting sued) hopefully the quality has improved

never really understood what was gained with those arms... how much lighter could they be?

Check your facts boys before spouting off your mouth--All the tests have been done on these arms,They are lighter and STRONGER than factory lower arms even with the plates installed proven fact-look it up-Cap products never had a LAWSUIT against them again look it up,Qa1 took a year to test and fix some of the jigs that they bought from cap,If you were offered said amount of dollars for a business you started and it would take care of you and your family for the rest of your life and the rest of your life you had the money to race when ever you wanted WHAT WOULD YOU DO????? That's what the owner of cap got from qa1. You think Qa1 is that stupid WAKE UP and keep your mouths shut--

aren't you the former owner of CAP???

Yep,see what the truth does??? start to beat up on the guy who's right

not really sure where i started crap at. i see you getting your panties in a bunch really fast though. if you have didn't have anything to do with cap then whats your issue???

like i said, word on the street was the company was sold in order to avoid law suits. is it true? hell i don't know but thats what the word that is out there.

No shortage of Cap failure threads out there on the net. And what about the pictures to prove it??

Well if more people would THINK before they would type or check some FACTS about a product and not just rant UN-truthfull facts there would be a lot of love. Truth hard to find these days ANYWHERE !!!

I think you need all need to get your facts straight before posting....

I'm hopeing QA1 fixed the issues with the K-member. wouldn't mind getting one. I liked the original concept but it was poorly constructed.

i'm sure the quality will be better now that qa1 is gonna be selling it. too big of company to risk putting junk out there..

Just got mine last week. They were on back order for 2 months. QA1 built these. The welds and powdercoating look great. These look very strong. They weight 8.5lbs each. Not sure how much the factory ones weight. I ordered mine from Naake Motorsports. They had the best price when I ordered these. I am putting them on a 1970 Dart with a 1973 k-member that has been welded up with a kit I ordered from firm feel. I am running the Hotchkis UCA, sway bars, torsion bars, rear springs and shocks. I will be using the CPP spindles and Willwood brake kit. I hope everyting bolts up right. I also have the 3" spring relocator with a 8.75 rear. Still building my 416 stroker. Hope to have it done this winter.

Hmmm, doesn't look like the material tore from the weld, looks like the welds just cracked in the middle.

There's many factors that could come in to play with that: Wrong gas/wire combination, tensile strength of the wire was really low, too high/low of amps, could've even been just the wrong filler material(wire or tig rod).

Very unfortunate.
