Fall Fling in Van Nuys 10/20

There are people raping through the swap line when parked in the street before they ever park the sellers. Sucks but that's the way it is sometimes. Some sellers tell them to F off and wait til they get parked, others will deal in the street.

You can get deals at the beginning or end, just depends on if the part you want is there.

Jay Leno drove in this A-body last year. Then he interviewed a bunch of car owners and put it on his website:

I'll deal on the street or in the park. If you don't make the deal on the street the guy may never find you again or get sidetracked and never get there. It's harder to deal with an enclosed vehicle, though...

is it to late to register a car for the show field? i just noticed the cut off was yesterday, can we just reg at the gate?

1jstrong, what parts are you looking for? Any new repro stuff too?

To be honest, I'm not looking for much. I do need the nut that goes on my steering wheel shaft. I pulled my steering wheel and there was no nut holding it down. I'd like to get a mat for my trunk. Right now I'm just riding around with nothing. A spare tire hold down. Someone stole 2 of my chrome tire valve caps, so I was thinking of picking up a set of 4 with the Mopar logo on them. Need I mention I want a bigger engine and a new 5 speed manual? But I doubt those can be had in 'drop in' condition for a few hundred bucks.

I was also wanting to get some ideas for a center console. I'm not a fan of the OE style and with bucket seats, I haven't found an aftermarket that is narrow enough. I've gotten some great ideas from this site, but the more I have, the more data I can use to create mine.

All this is for my 73 Dart.

The steering wheel nut is kind of unique. Do you know what one looks like and it's size, so you can spot it in the swap meet? If not ask in the General Discussion section here for that info.

Do you have any dented trim or grille pieces on your car? Or cracked discolored interior pieces? How pitted are your rear tail light bezels? Great place to find that stuff in the swap meet. Go around your car and take digital pictures of each section of the car. Then when you're in the swap meet you can go back on your camera and look at your car to see if the parts match and the condition of your current parts. Make "scroll" and "zoom" work for you!

Rocket Restorations, Mr Moparts, and Frank's Restoration, The Mopar Shop may have a trunk mat for you.

I think most of them are allready on the road to the show. But you could call Ed at (559) 645-7243 or www.themoparshop.com And see if he has a trunk mat and make sure he bring one down for you. Vendors can't bring everything, so it's good idea to call ahead.

Driving up from San Diego. Been going for a decade.

Jason,
I've got spare nuts for the steering column (whether or not I can find one tomorrow is questionable, but it is likely). I'll be in the swap in my medium gray Durango. I'll be easy to spot with a full set of 73-74 E-body seats and a 67 Barracuda header panel. Both are white. If not, I'm not that far up the road from you (Fresno).

id love to go this year, but i usually go to the spring fling only. its a 6 hour drive for me...

Even though you might miss out on some items, highest prices are in the morning. Some of these guys are Really Proud of their parts. I like to swoop in on parts later on when the prices drop. Nobody wants to load their stuff back in the truck. 9am is not to late at all.

That can bite you, I missed a $400 set of 440source heads by about 5 minutes. But then again, I scored a Vertex RB magneto for $40 on the way out at 11:00 so it is what it is....Ill be there by 0700 as usual and I got a garage of Fling parts....

hmm...now that I think of it...would there be a chance of any supercharged small block items? Im looking for a 671 and smallblock blower manifold, and all the pulleys...LOL...hell id even settle for the smaller B&M blower...

Pictures from Friday's (today's) Fall Fling Malibu Cruise.

The Spring/Fall Fling Malibu Cruise's are getting to be star studded events. :D

Last Spring Fling Malibu Cruise, Kenny Wayne Shepard joined in on. This time Jonathan LaPaglia chose to cruise with the group of Mopars.
