putting shaker hood on duster yes or no?

My 75 Duster- my dad put on a corvette stingray type hoodscoop on it. The top piece. Got it from jc whitney I think. That actually looked real good on my car. A shaker style though??? hmm. Its def different.

Like this style of scoop?

I'd be interested in seeing that.

I will agree his looks to low and a little off but I think its because it doesn't tie in well with other choices iphoto shopped a few more angles I'll post when home sorry I'm sold shaker with shark tooth looks like pure muscle to me

Seen a orange Duster years ago that had one. Just didn't look right. You asked for comments thats just mine.

I would do it.

Everyone has the 2 side by side scoops or the dual snorkel scoops on their Dusters.

I like the idea of mixing and matching MOPAR parts with MOPAR cars.

Certainly looks better than those Chevy cowl induction hoods on a MOPAR.

I think it would look better if the hood was totally flat, no center bump with the shaker. Maybe modify a fiberglass one and smooth it out? I like the shaker :glasses7:

I strongly considered doing this on my 67 fb barracuda. The plan was to get a flat hood (fiberglass) and make the necessary modifications, possibly use the understructure of an ebody fiberglass shaker hood and order the flat hood w/o bracing and bond it. When I started adding up the parts cost- it was deprioritized. Also since then I have seen a few pop up, and I think I am over it already.

Photoshop a Duster with the New Challenger Drag Pak TA style hood. I am very curious how that would look on my Demon or a Duster.
:happy1:

Not an over the counter item, about 100 hours of fab work. Took the section that was cut out of the hood, used it to make the top section of shaker breather. works very well. Cut brases from under hood and shortened them and then rewelded back in, Is it perfect, not even close, but this was the first attempt, the next one will be made of Fiberglass so I can get some weight off the front end, well thats my plans.

I raised it up another 3/4's of an inch. The other pics were from a few years ago. I just took these tonight.

I think it may look better if it was on a 73-76 duster hood. JMO

my hood grill and bumper are 73 right now but i want the sharktooth eventually i will be pulling those off soon

I'd be interested in seeing that.

I grafted the front part of that stinger hood to a functional Chevelle cowl induction hood one time. It looked pretty bad ***. I cut the front part open so when you got on it, and back opened up and it created a wing effect and cold air was not a problem! If it rained you just screwed the metal trim in place in the front and sealed the setup to suck air only through the back. Sold the hood for 3k  I think I'll make another at some point.

I would start with a flat hood, and modify it. Make sure the scoop sits high enough, other wise it will look funny. I would rather see a shaker than a cowl induction or a stinger scoop. Just my opinion!
