318-347 stroker

Up for sale is a custom built 347 cubic inch 318 based budget stroker. The engine is ready to be assembled and dyno tested. This engine was slated to be my “go anywhere, anytime, 87 octane pump gas” daily driver engine. One of the goals for this engine build was maximum fuel efficiency. I expect this engine with its very small hydraulic roller camshaft to approach 20-22 mpg. This engine should produce 325-350 hp and will have a smooth modern idle. I was putting this in front of an AX-15 5spd and did not want a hugely torquey engine tearing up the tranny.
Build specs:86 318 roller block .020” over, torque plate honed, decked ,shot blasted etc…9.4 comp ‘302 swirl port heads 1.92”/1.6” Magnum valves bowl ported. Flow 191 cfm @ .500” New cast guides 5/16” dia, new positive valve seals, resurfaced deck and intake side, smog holes plugged—These are nice heads and the ports were not touched in the interest of fuel efficiency. 1.250” valve springs for performance hydraulic roller. Cast pistons custom machined to match rotating assembly. Stock forged rods, reconditioned with ARP rod bolts. 360 crankshaft,rods & mains turned to stock 318 diameter—Balanced with stock 360 balancer and flywheel. Custom ground hydraulic roller camshaft with .449/.449 “ 204/214 @.050 112 Cl. Have Cam Doctor printout. Stock reconditioned rockers & shafts. Offenhauser 360 intake blasted resurfaced and painted. NEW 600 cfm QuickFuel Slayer carb optional. Will come with a 318 truck pan.
For anyone looking for a real strong 318 without the hassle of building a 360 this is the build for you. All the engine will need is distributor, waterpump, thermostat housing, headers. This engine will be nicer than any crate for $4000. PM for more info. J.Rob
